SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: NICO PAULO - NICO PAULO - The Spill Magazine
Nico Paulo Nico Paulo Forward Music Group It might be a strange choice for some to exchange the milder climes of Portugal for Newfoundland, but for singer songwriter Nico Paulo, that just might have been the right thing to do to come up with some excellent music on her debut, self-titled album. Yes, Paulo does […]

The Water Bearer's Jar : The Esoteric Jazz Rock of Steve Hillage : Aquarium Drunkard
Among certain sectors, Steve Hillage will always be known as the “exhibit A’” cosmic hippie rock guitar virtuoso. But part of what made his 1970s work so original was the degree to which his band cross pollinated guitar with synthesizer. Exploring esoteric topics, far out symbolism, and awash in aquatic cosmic tides, Hillage created a body of mystic jazz rock.

NAD C 3050 LE BluOS streaming integrated amplifier
Although NAD was founded in England in 1972 as New Acoustic Dimension, my introduction to the brand was in 1980. I bought an NAD 3020 integrated amplifier after hearing it successfully drive Acoustic Research's current-hungry AR9 loudspeakers. Designed in England by Bjørn-Erik Edvardsen (footnote 1) and manufactured in Taiwan, the ridiculously inexpensive 3020it cost just $135 back thenshowed that an amplifier didn't need machined faceplates, intimidating heatsinks, or technically glamorous components to be able to drive real-world speakers.
