SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: PACKS - MELT THE HONEY - The Spill Magazine
PACKS MELT THE HONEY FIRE TALK Although Toronto’s Madeline Link is the person that operates as PACKS, the moniker actually covers a full band which includes Dexter Nash on guitar, Noah O’Neil on bass, and Shane Hooper on drums. Still, on Link and the band’s second album Melt the Honey, it is Link’s penchant for […]

SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: DIANE COLL - OLD GHOSTS - The Spill Magazine
DIANE COLL OLD GHOSTS INDEPENDENT Words are quite important to Diane Coll, after all in the other part of her life, she is a mental health therapist. The High Llamas Share New Song "Toriafan": Listen
The High Llamas, Sean O’Hagan’s idiosyncratic and long-running indie-pop project, will return this spring with the new album Hey Panda. It’s the first new High Llamas LP since 2016, and we’ve already posted the title track, which is literally about a cute panda’s TikTok account. Today, O’Hagan has followed that song with the rich, layered ballad “Toriafan.” It’s a twinkly, off-kilter take on contemporary R&B. Somehow, the track finds room for Auto-Tuned squeaks and impressionistic strings. The British artists Rae Morris and Fryars contribute guest-vocals as does O’Hagan’s daughter Livvy. Here’s what O’Hagan says about it:
